Anxiety Help - Can Environment be a Cause of Anxiety?

Can Environment be a Cause of Anxiety?

I totally agree that environment can cause anxiety.

My opinion is that people are very good at screwing up everything they come into contact with. Nature is perfection itself; unspoiled by our imperfection.

Being constantly reminded of our imperfection by all the concrete, aluminum, and buzzing electricity only aggravates our anxiety.

Anxiety Help - Ease Stress and Anxiety

Ease Stress and Anxiety

How can I ease stress and anxiety over relationships, career and accommodation?

Relationships are not static. They are ever changing. If they become static for too long, they can become extinct like the dinosaurs.

All of these stages require change, learning and exploration of new territory. If one or both members in the relationship become rigid and resistant to needed changes the relationship could end in divorce.

Anxiety Help - Anti Anxiety Medications & Drugs As Needed?

Anti Anxiety Medications & Drugs As Needed?

Does anybody know of any anti anxiety medication that you can take just as needed?

In response to your question about anti anxiety/panic disorder medications. I understand that you would only like to take these on an as-needed basis, which is good. Some people with extreme cases of panic attacks or generalized anxiety disorder want to be medicated 24/7 which many times leads to addiction and if they go off the medications then they have rebound symptoms which are much worse than the original symptoms that lead them to take the meds in the first place.

Then there are the as-needed type of anti anxiety medications, the most common class being the benzodiazepines which include Xanax (alprazolam), Valium (diazepam), Ativan (lorazepam), and Klonipin (clonazepam).

Anxiety Help - Clonazepam for Anxiety

Clonazepam for Anxiety

"Everything I read about the Clonazepam anxiety medication said that Clonazapam is used to treat seizure disorders and anxiety panic attacks. I had never had a seizure in my life so I couldnt understand why this would be a good choice for me. I asked my doctor why he picked this particular medication."

Mikes doctor explained to him that Clonazepam belongs to a class of medications called benzodiazepines, which act, on the brain and nerves (central nervous system) to produce a calming effect. This calming effect can be very helpful in controlling panic attacks.

While some people have reservations about using medication to treat anxiety, there are millions of Americans who could not function in their daily lives without the assistance of medication.

Is this Social Anxiety Disorder?

My 11 month-old has a phobia of some strangers and not others. She attends day care once per week for an hour and she's fine there, but whenever her physical therapist comes over (once every two weeks) or we introduce her to someone new that is my or my husband's age or older she freaks out.

I dont know if this is social anxiety disorder, but I can tell you that my 15 month-old little girl only acted that way around people who are, I don't want to say negative, but she felt something that wasn't right in people whatever that may be.

If she is around a certain person more when that person is happy or in a good mood she will feel that and eventually come to be comfortable around that person.

Anxiety and depression are two symptoms that can also be due to chronic low blood sugar.

Check out the symptoms link at www.hufa.org to find out more symptoms that also may be low blood sugar related. There is an article on that site that gives some hints on what can be done for low blood sugar.

Can Anxiety Disorder - Cause Head Tremors?

Tremors may occur in healthy individuals due to intense fear, hunger, extreme cold, over excitement or hysteria, and excessive physical exertion and fatigue.

Tremors can also be the side effect of prolonged use of certain medications such as some antidepressants (amitriptyline, nortriptyline, fluoxetine, sertraline, nefazodone, etc.) and some antihistamines; the tremors caused by these medications subside after the medication is discontinued.

Amongst the diseases associated with tremors, essential tremor and Parkinson's disease are the best known. Tremor can also be caused by multiple sclerosis and can also occur due to large doses of ionizing radiation.

Anxiety Help - Anxiety Attacks During Labor

Anxiety Attacks During Labor

I have not officially been diagnosed with anxiety disorder, but have been known to have an anxiety attack when things get to be too much.

You also go through a bit of a strange sensation when you are in labor where your brain almost goes numb and it is difficult to think about anything. It is difficult to describe, but I think it all has to do with your body dealing with the pain.

I am a few days away from delivering my second child and have been getting nervous playing the waiting game and doing my best to talk myself out of a panic attack (I am the type of person who does not like surprises and likes to have things scheduled and planned and since I have no control over when I go into labor it is quite frustrating).
