Child Anxiety Creates a Web of Worry and Fear

While other carefree children are skipping, laughing and playing ball on the playground, eight-year old Johnny, who suffers from child anxiety, stands on the sidelines showing little emotion and having no interaction with other children.

Back in the classroom, the young child anxiety sufferer dreads the prospect of being called upon by the teacher. You can see the fear in his eyes when the teacher asks him to tell the class about his new dog, Fluffy.

Typically, child anxiety sufferers are very self-conscious, feel tense and have a strong need for reassurance. Child anxiety sufferers may complain about stomachaches or other discomforts that do not appear to have a physical cause.

Anxiety Help - Anxiety Attacks During Labor

Anxiety Attacks During Labor

I have not officially been diagnosed with anxiety disorder, but have been known to have an anxiety attack when things get to be too much.

You also go through a bit of a strange sensation when you are in labor where your brain almost goes numb and it is difficult to think about anything. It is difficult to describe, but I think it all has to do with your body dealing with the pain.

I am a few days away from delivering my second child and have been getting nervous playing the waiting game and doing my best to talk myself out of a panic attack (I am the type of person who does not like surprises and likes to have things scheduled and planned and since I have no control over when I go into labor it is quite frustrating).

Heart Medication for Anxiety & Depression

Should I be worried? My father recently passed away. I've been prescribed different medications for depression and anxiety (Lexapro, Ambien, Clonopin) but they are taken nightly and make me tired. During the day it's hard to function because of the grief I'm dealing with due to my father's sudden death.

If you're uncertain if you should take this medication for anxiety and depression, get a second opinion.

Also, my pharmacist told me not to eat anything with grapefruit in it, as it has an enzyme that changes the effectiveness of the medicine.

How to Overcome Social Anxiety Disorder?

I am seeing a psychologist and he is helping a lot, but last night I went to a friends graduation party and I found myself constantly watching the door and seeing all the people who came in and the more that came the sicker I got.

I have very bad social anxiety disorder as a symptom of having Asperger Syndrome. Public and social situations are extremely difficult for me because of all the commotion and noise. I am a door-watcher as well.

I did much better working with a therapist who taught me a process called cognitive behavioral therapy. Ask your psychologist about it.
